Kata pengkritik Satu Malaysia, cakap tak serupa bikin. Contohnya Perdana Menteri cakap pasal menyatukan rakyat berbilang bangsa dan kaum tapi selang beberapa hari kemudian Utusan Malaysia milik parti Perdana Menteri melaungkan "Bangkitkan Melayu" sebagai tajuk utama muka depan akhbar tersebut.

Perdana Menteri baru slogan pun mestilah baru juga. Maka berkumandanglah siang malam pagi petang dicorong udara dan peti televisyen petikan ucapan keramat Najib semasa mengumumkan barisan kabinet beliau, "Rakyat Didahulukan, Prestasi Diutamakan". Tup tup keluar gambar Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Muhyiddin Yassin menaiki Rolls Royce semasa menziarahi jenazah isteri Ketua Menteri Sarawak baru-baru ini.

Penanti pula sedia menunggu

NS death - teenager’s family suing dept for negligence

KLANG, May 11 (theStarOnline) - The family of Too Hui Min, the national service (NS) trainee who died after complaining of constipation, is suing the NS Training Department for negligence.

“We believe it was more than constipation and we want justice for our daughter,” said Hui Min’s mother Chin Kwee Choo, 52.

“How can a healthy girl die all of a sudden like this?” she asked.

Hui Min, from Geo Kosmo NS Training Camp in Kuala Kubu Baru, died at Slim River Hospital on Wednesday at 10.45pm after complaining of constipation.

The distraught mother said that despite passing with flying colours in her SPM examination last year, Hui Min did not have big dreams. The 7As scorer only wished to be a tour guide.

“She has never been anywhere else except her own country,'' said Chin.

“It was her dream to travel overseas and experience the world by herself. Now, it will remain just a dream.”

Chin said she and her husband Jong Sing were not satisfied with the explanation that their daughter died of toxic megacolon.

“We want to know what happened,” she said during a press conference organised by Pandamaran state assemblyman Ronnie Liu here yesterday. Chin and her husband had sought help from Liu, who had arranged a lawyer for them.

The Selangor exco member joined other DAP voices in demanding that the NS programme be scrapped in view of the number of fatal cases, most of them involving girls.

Malaysia negeri U.S. ke 51?

"Malaysia is the 51st US state. The Governer is Abd Allah Al-Bedawi". Begitulah komen seorang pembaca MalaysiaToday mengenai berita Irna "Malaysia failed to honor its commitment to Iran".

Malaysia failed to honor its commitment to Iran

Tehran (IRNA) - Iran criticized Malaysia for failure to honor the commitment it had taken by the invitation it extended to Iran.

Official in charge of Iranian pavilion in Kuala Lumpur Defence Services Asia Exhibit said that Iran had taken part in Malaysian defense exhibit as per an invitation to that effect.

Faramarz Abdoust said that the Islamic Republic of Iran was officially invited to the fair by the country's defense officials.

Iran received guarantee for participation in the exhibition in August 2007, he said adding that Iran provided the Malaysian exhibit with a list of the goods and equipment that were to be on display at the Iranian pavilion one month ahead.

The Malaysian officials promised that the Iranian pavilion would face no problem during the exhibition period, Abdoust added, in reference to the US matter of habit well known to Iranians.

He added that the Kuala Lumpur failure to extend services to Iran's pavilion was "fully political under the US pressure".

Iran has protested to Malaysian government over its failure to honor its commitments in this respect, the Iranian official said.

Such moves and pressures will not create any obstacle in the way of development and progress of Iran's defense industry and exports, Abdoust reiterated.

The Iranian pavilion at the Defence Services Asia exhibition was closed on the second day of the four-day trade show which ended Thursday.

According to Kuala Lumpur-based New Straits Times, US embassy officials had approached organisers and the Malaysian defence and foreign ministries to voice their concern and threatened to pull out of the show if action was not taken.

The US was one of the largest exhibitors with 26 American companies taking part.

Defense Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak said, "We received some complaints but we took this action not on the basis of the complaints but because of our position."

"Jika mereka kata mereka buat "people power" sebenarnya "people power" ada kepada BN," kata beliau.

About turn - Dalam masa kurang dari seminggu, kabinet setuju ganti Nuri.

Cabinet Nod For Nuri Replacement

KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 (Bernama) - The cabinet has agreed to replace the fleet of ageing Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Nuri helicopters which has been in service since 1968, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

The deputy prime minister, who chaired the weekly cabinet meeting today, said he had informed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is currently on leave, and his cabinet colleagues on the need to speed up the replacement programme in the interest of the country.

"And they've given their approval," he told reporters here.

Najib, who is also Defence Minister, said the cabinet agreed that the procurement of the new helicopters be done through international open tender to be called in the next few months.

The cabinet decision was made in the wake of the Nuri helicopter crash at Genting Sempah, near Genting Highlands, on Friday which killed its six airforce crew members.

Najib said the Nuri replacement aircraft were likely to be delivered within the next three years and until then, the RMAF would continue using the US-made Nuri helicopters.

He added that the type and specifications of the new aircraft would be determined later.

"Hopefully we won't have to deal with another Nuri accident (pending the arrival of its replacement)," said Najib.

He said the Nuri was still safe to use and had proven effective in carrying out its daily tasks.

The wreckage of the helicopter was found five kilometres northwest of Genting Sempah at 1.24pm yesterday. It was reported missing at about 9.35am on Friday, 10 minutes after taking off for Kuantan from the RMAF air base in Sungai Besi here.

Orang Islam perlu memahami al Quran secara menyeluruh - Najib

Pasti ada yang tersenyum membaca berita ini.

Muslims Need To Understand Al-Quran Holistically

KUANTAN, June 30 (Bernama) - All Muslims must endeavour to understand the Al-Quran in a more holistic manner instead of merely having the ability to read the holy book, said Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

The Deputy Prime Minister said whenever someone mentions the word Al-Quran or does something relating to the Al-Quran, it means he or she has shown an affinity or love for Islam.

"The Muslim's way of life is guided by the teachings contained in the Al-Quran and as such, anyone who enlivens the Al-Quran whether by reading, studying, appreciating or practising what is contained in the holy book, then he or she has endeavoured to uphold the teachings of Islam," he said at the closing of the Wanita Umno's Quran Reciters Assembly and Nasyid Competition, here today.

Najib said the Al-Quran is a comprehensive, compact and accurate guide to life and it is mandatory for Muslims to be convinced that the holy book is a constitutional guide to life in the present world and hereafter.

"It is true that understanding the contents of the Al-Quran is not easy. Even those who can speak or understand Arabic will also find it difficult to understand it," he said.

Also present at the function were Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Pahang Wanita Umno head Datuk Maznah Mazlan and chairman of the Pahang Wanita Umno Religious Bureau Zaleha Hussin.

Cerita rasuah yang tak berkesudahan

Najib to find out more details on allegations against IGP

PEKAN, July 1 - The Deputy Prime Minister’s office will find out more details on allegations that Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan accepted bribes and of his alleged involvement with underworld figures.

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he was not aware of the postings on a website involving the country’s top police officer.

“I don’t know about the allegations. Let me check,” he told reporters after attending the ground-breaking ceremony of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang’s permanent campus in Kuala Pahang, near here, yesterday.

On Saturday, Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Mohd Johari Baharom was quoted by a local Malay daily as having said that the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) was free to investigate Musa over the allegations.

He said ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Yusoff would monitor developments.

Mohd Johari added that he too had been investigated over allegations of accepting RM5mil in bribes to release three men detained under the Emergency Ordinance.

The ACA has since completed investigations into Mohd Johari’s case and submitted its findings to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

On a separate matter, Najib said he hoped all Umno divisional meetings would proceed smoothly.

He said he was optimistic about this, based on recently concluded branch meetings which had gone on uninterrupted in accordance with the party’s constitution.

“We hope that there will not be any unpleasant episode that requires the Umno disciplinary board to take action,” he said. theStarOnline

Sukhoi pesawat 'canggih'

Sukhoi Fighter Aircraft A Tactical And Strategic Asset

IRKUTSK, Russia, May 24 (Bernama) - Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Chief Jen Datuk Seri Azizan Ariffin said the Sukhoi Su-30MKM multi-role fighter jet is a tactical and strategic asset to RMAF as its ability to cover long distances puts it on par with the air forces of neighbouring states.

"The Su-30MKM will act as a deterrent to parties that try to threaten the sovereignty of Malaysia," said Azizan when signing an early acceptance certificate for the delivery of two Su-30MKMs (M52-01 and M52-02) from representatives of Russian state corporation Rosoboronexport and the Irkut Aircraft Corporation here today.

The RMAF Chief arrived in this eastern Siberian city yesterday piloting a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft.

"Today is a historical day for the RMAF as the Su-30MKMs delivered are the most sophisticated multi-role aircraft in Southeast Asia," he told reporters at the Irkut Aircraft Corporation's runway with temperatures dipping to -10 degrees Celcius.

The two Su-30MKM jets are the first of 18 ordered by RMAF in May 2003 at a cost of RM3.42 billion (USD900 million).

The Malaysian delegation comprising senior RMAF officers and the media were treated to a 10-minute aerobatics show by a squadron of Su-30MKM jets.

Azizan said the two Sukhoi planes would be delivered in June using the Antonov AN-124 transport aircraft to the RMAF base in Gong Kedak, Kelantan.

The sixteen others will be delivered in stages between the end of the year and mid-2008.

Azizan said the fighters will be equipped with sophisticated air-to-air RVV-AE missiles.

RVV-AE is the Russian acronym for Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile or AMRAAMski in defence circles and is said to be as good if not better than the United States-made AMRAAMs.

Other than Malaysia, Singapore is believed to have equipped its F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft with AMRAAMs.

The Su-30MKMs can fly for 4.5 hours with a range of 3,000km on a normal fuel tank, but with inflight refuelling, the time and distance can be extended to 10 hours and 8,000 km.

They are also equipped with high-powered radars to detect targets from afar enabling them to double up as early warning aircraft.

Meanwhile, the deputy general director of Rosoboronexport, Victor Komardin, said the RMAF's Su-30MKMs were the most versatile and modern multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) aircraft in the world.

"They have the most modern engine, avionics and weapons systems," he said.

Kemenangan Ijok, BN masih popular - Najib

Selepas segala tindakan.. tidak kira apa cara!

Ijok Win Shows BN Still Popular Among The Masses, Says Najib

KUALA SELANGOR, April 28 (Bernama) - Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tonight said that the Barisan Nasional (BN) victory in the Ijok state by-election is testimony to the continued popularity of the ruling government among the people.

Observing that the rakyat continued to have faith in the BN, the Deputy Prime Minister said the win also illustrated their unflinching support for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

"This is a truly significant victory as Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) had launched a very aggressive campaign... they hurled all sorts of slander against BN leaders. But we remained stoic and patient," he told reporters after the announcement of the result of the by-election at the Batang Berjuntai community hall here.

Pointing out that the BN had chalked up an increased majority in Ijok compared to the one garnered in the 2004 general election, Najib said the rakyat had opted for a responsible party, mindful that their future was inextricably linked to the BN.

The BN retained the Ijok seat when its candidate, K. Parthiban, 38, beat Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim of the PKR in the straight fight to win by a 1,850-vote majority.

The by-election was held following the death of BN assemblyman Datuk K. Sivalingam of a heart attack in Chennai, India, on April 4. In the last general election, in 2004, Sivalingam had garnered a 1,649-vote majority to beat PKR's Abdol Rahman Moharam and Mohamed Shariff Nagoorkani, an independent.

Of today's victory, Najib said: "The people have rejected the opposition by putting their trust in the BN."

On the high voter turnout of 81.88 per cent, the highest ever in the country's election history, he said: "It shows that democracy is very much alive in the hearts of the voters and they had exercised their right as enshrined in the constitution. I view this as something positive."

Najib noted that with the latest win, BN notched up its fifth consecutive by-election success, of which four with increased majority, including in the just-concluded Ijok polls.

He also denied the existence of "phantom voters" in Ijok as alleged by the opposition.

Najib hoped that the Kuala Selangor-born Pathiban would do his best to fulfil the aspirations of the Ijok electorate.

He was also asked whether the BN victory in Ijok pointed to an imminent general election.

"This is a good precursor for the next general election," he replied.

However, the deputy prime minister said the timing of the next general election would depend on many other factors.

"But we don't want to reveal (it). I'm sure the prime minister will know when to call (for the next general election)," he added.

Najib gesa bekerja dgn kerajaan bentuk generasi mantap

New Muslim Generation Needs Inner Strength, Says Najib

PEKAN, April 7 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak called on the Muslim community to work together with the government to mould a new generation of Muslims who would have the inner strength to ward off undesirable and destructive elements.

"Our new generation must have the inner strength to protect them from involvement in detestable activities which still plague the Muslim community in our country," the Deputy Prime Minister said at the closing of a seminar and thanksgiving for religious teachers in Pahang, here.

He said this was a major challenge to the government because there were still numerous social problems that were affecting the Muslim community in the country.

"Such problems can be seen from the endless cases of drug abuse by the Malays where I was recently told that the number of Malays who are addicted to drugs has now reached about 300,000 or 70 per cent of the total number of addicts.

"When we look at the other problems whether pertaining to rape, abandoning of infants or indecent behaviour, it is also regrettable because of the number of young Malays involved in such activities," he said.

As such, Najib said, the government hoped that there would be strong commitment from all strata of society to overcome such problems as it was difficult for the government to stop the people from using information technology or the internet in the globalisation era.

He said a strong understanding of Islam would help to build the Muslims' inner strength and achieve Islamic excellence.

Latihan PLKN untuk perempuan sahaja tak sesuai?

Ya Allah, selamatkanlah anak-anak kami!

All-girl camp ‘unrealistic’

RAUB, March 26 - The proposal of an all-female national service camp might not get everyone’s support as it would create an “unrealistic situation”, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said one of the aims of national service was to allow youths of both sexes to integrate to encourage better understanding and mutual respect.

However, Najib said the Government was waiting for a formal proposal on the matter from the National Service Training Council.

“We can only make a decision once we have studied it,” he told reporters here.

On the Machap by-election, Najib said he was confident that the Barisan Nasional candidate would do well.

“We won in three other by-elections and the last one at Batu Talam. We are confident we will win again in Machap,” he said.

On newspaper reports about the arrest of a Malaysian in the United States for alleged involvement in al-Qaeda-linked suicide bombing, Najib said he had yet to receive any information.

“I believe they will contact our Foreign Affairs Ministry soon and we will look into the matter once we know the full details,” he said. theStarOnline

Belum buat keputusan asingkan latihan PLKN khas untuk perempuan sahaja - Najib

Keputusan sepatutnya cukup mudah. Tapi tidak di negara Islam Hadhari!

No Decision Yet On All-female NS Training Camps, Says Najib

RAUB, March 25 (Bernama) -- The Government has not decided whether to accept the proposal to have an all-female training camps for female National Service (NS) trainees, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said not all parties would agree to the proposal by the National Service Training Council.

"The proposal has not been conveyed to me officially. Wait until I receive it from the council before we make a decision.

"But I am aware not everybody will support the proposal as many people feel segregating the trainees will create an unrealistic environment," he told reporters after attending a meet-the-people session at Kampung Sega Tat.

"One of the qualities we should have in managing ourselves in the company of the opposite sex is mutual respect and understanding," said Najib, who is also Defence Minister.

Tiada tekanan untuk buat pilihanraya - Najib

Dan ekonomi terus dicanang sebagai kukuh..

Najib: Govt not facing pressure to call polls

KUALA LUMPUR, March 24 (Bernama) - The Government does not consider itself under pressure to call for a general election, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“There are no pressures actually. Not that the Government has insufficient majority. There are no big issues and so on.

“Besides people are fond on making election speculations, I don't think we are under any form of pressure to hold a general election,” he said in a special interview shown by RTM1 last night.

Asked on how Barisan Nasional (BN) would fare in the next general election, Najib said: “We are confident... but to retain the 2004's extraordinary achievement will not be that easy.”

On the RM7.6bil allocation for Kelantan, Najib said the Government's main objective was to ensure the people's well-being.

“Politics is politics. Hopefully, the Kelantan people can value the Federal Government's sincerity to bring changes to Kelantan and hopefully, with this open attitude, they will support the BN government in future,” he said.

He also said Malaysians need not have doubts about the state of the country's economy as the existing indicators point to positive and encouraging growth.

At the same time, Najib advised the public not to be taken in by negative reports about the economy which were being spread by irresponsible people with vested agendas.

Asked about the lack of confidence by many regarding the implementation of the 9MP, he said:

“This is a result of the information age whereby official data recognised by world authorities and those fabricated by individuals can easily reach a wide section of people at the same time.”

Saya dan Pak Lah tidak bercanggah, Najib

Cerita di internet semua dongeng..

Najib Quashes Rumour Of Differences Between Him And PM

PEKAN, March 17 (Bernama) - Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak refuted rumour in the internet that there are differences between him and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Describing the rumour as a "myth", he said his relationship with the Prime Minister was very close and strong in steering the country's development.

"Being the number two in the country, I always strive to assist the Prime Minister in the country's administration and so on for the good of the country.

"Don't listen to the stories in the internet...they are all a myth," he said in his speech at the Pekan Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) gathering and lunch, here.

Najib said efforts by certain groups in holding ceramah to criticise him including in the Pekan parliamentay constituency were aimed at poisoning the mind of the people against him.

"We should not react hastily, we must stick to principles and the truth...what is important is that we understand and know who will help us," he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the people were now capable of evaluating the country's leadership and had the right to choose the best and most suitable leader.

"This year, we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the country's independence, and we should be thankful for being citizens of Malaysia which is developed and strong compared to some other countries.

"This achievement can be attributed to several factors and one of them is effective leadership because we have had leaders with vision, dedication and well planned programs for the good of the people," he said.

As such, the people must be together with the government to remain united in continuing the country's development agenda, Najib said.

Bickering will hurt BN image: Najib
R. Manirajan, sun2surf

KUALA LUMPUR (March 14, 2007) - Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak said the quarrel between the People's Progressive Party (PPP) and Gerakan would hurt BN's image.

He said it created an environment of political uncertainty among the component parties.

"I feel a solution needs to be found between both the parties concerned in order to calm the situation," the deputy prime minister told reporters after receiving donations worth RM33,000 from the Defence Ministry staff and the armed forces for the National Disaster Fund.

Najib said the on-going bickering will affect BN's image and a proper solution had to be found as soon as possible.

Asked to comment on his remark on Monday that the National Service Training Programme could be extended from three months to two years, he said no decision had been made yet as this was just a proposal made by a Malaysian student during his recent visit to South Korea.

In response to Malaysia being seen to be more corrupt this year in an annual survey by Hongkong-based Political and Economic Risk Consultancy, Najib said there were many corruption surveys in the market and the findings boiled down to a problem of perception.

"The government is working hard to reduce the level of corruption in the country. Many efforts have been taken and will continue to be taken," he added.

In the findings released on Tuesday, Malaysia ranked seventh with a score of 6.25 (zero is the best score and 10 the worst) in the poll of 1,476 expatriate business executives in 13 countries and territories.

Asked to comment on speculations, including on the Internet, that he was having differences with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, he said: "If you listen to the Internet, you will go mad." sun2surf
