EC Chairman Slams Defeated Electoral Candidates Who Blame EC
KOTA BAHARU, Dec 2 (Bernama) - Election Commission (EC) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman has had enough of defeated electoral candidates blaming the EC for their loss in elections.
He asked them to take a good look at themselves, to ask themselves what went wrong -- "was it because they were not good looking or was it because their programmes were inattractive; make an evaluation".
"Stop blaming the Election Commission every time that you lose in the elections," he said, reiterating that the EC was ready to act if any of them had proof of irregularities associated with it.
"Our system is transparent. No cheating has ever happened in the elections. I have served the EC for 25 years. I have been looking for candidates who have been cheated. There are none," he told reporters after briefing Kelantan returning officers, assistant returning officers and other EC staff in preparation for the 12th general election. more
