The hotline will be connected to the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC), an ethnic Indian party in the ruling coalition, said a senior official, who declined to be named.
He said Indians will be able to call and complain about any grievances they may have.
He said Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has also instructed MIC to set up a committee to study the Indians' grievances. Agencies
The MIC will continue to work with the other coalition parties in the Barisan National to upgrade the socio-economic status of the Indian community in the country, reported Malaysia Nanban.
