KOTA BARU, May 20 - Burglars broke into a few offices at the state government administrative complex yesterday, the second break-in in two years at the sprawling complex.
It is learnt that the office of a special officer was broken into and RM4,700 and a digital camera taken. The room was ransacked.
Clerical staff were ordered to check immediately if files or documents had gone missing.
When contacted, state exco member Datuk Husam Musa said his office and that of state Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Anuar Tan Abdullah appeared to have been ransacked as files were scattered about.
“I believe it is politically motivated.
“In recent months, PAS offices in several districts in Kelantan have also reported burglaries including the loss of a computer.
“We want the police to investigate the cases vigilantly and bring the culprits to justice.”
Immediately after the first break-in two years ago, security was upgraded and digital locks installed at its main complex that houses the State Speaker’s Office, the Mentri Besar and Deputy Mentri Besar's Offices and the offices of 10 state executive councillors.
State CID head Asst Comm Mazlan Lazim confirmed the break-in and the loss of the cash and said police were investigating. theStarOnline
