Adelaide, May 20 - David Hicks, an Australian man who joined the Taliban, has been flown back to Australia after being transferred from the US prison in Guantanamo Bay.
Hicks was flown in a private jet to his hometown of Adelaide on Sunday morning to serve the remaining nine months of his seven-year prison sentence, Australian government officials said.
Hicks was taken directly from the airport to Yatala prison by a police convoy.
David McLeod, his lawyer, said Hicks was "elated" to be returning to
