Falsely accused, foreign worker beaten to death
JOHOR BARU, Oct 6 - A 19-year-old foreign worker was beaten to a pulp by a group of men after he was falsely accused of stealing a mobile phone.
The victim was having lunch at a stall in Batu 27, Kampung Rahmat, Kulai, at 11.30am on Friday when the stall's owner accused him of stealing his wife's mobile phone.
Without even being given a chance to explain, the stall's owner and other men began punching him.
In the midst of the incident, the stall owner's wife intervened and told her husband that she already found her phone.
The group of men then rushed the badly injured victim to Kulai Hospital but he died while receiving treatment at 2pm.
Acting State CID Chief Asst Comm Che Yusoff Che Ngah said that police have detained three men, including the stall owner, aged between 21 and 35.
"We believed more men were involved in the incident and we will pick them up soon.
"We are classifying the case as murder," he said when contacted on Saturday. theStarOnline
