Islam Hadhari terus diperkasa - Zahid

BERNAMA

Islam Hadhari mengeliru dan gugat akidah - TG Presiden Pas

ISLAM HADHARI: SATU KONSEP MENGELIRUKAN DAN MENGGUGAT AKIDAH UMAT ISLAM MALAYSIA

Petikan dari PRU12.pas.org.my
Oleh DATO' SERI TUAN GURU HJ ABD. HADI AWANG
Thursday, 21 February 2008

Latarbelakang

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4651840778465696637&hl=en

Al-Azhar sokong Islam Hadhari - Yadim

Percaya Islam Hadhari?

Yadim Sees Al-Azhar's Support For Islam Hadhari

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7 (Bernama) -- The Islamic Da'wah Foundation Malaysia (Yadim) sees the upcoming Al-Azhar Alumni World Conference which will discuss efforts in rebuilding Islamic civilisation, as a testimony of the renowned Egyptian university's support for Islam Hadhari.

Its president, Datuk Mohd Nakhaie Ahmad, said the working papers to be tabled at the three-day conference from Feb 15 here were selected by the Al-Azhar University which supported the implementation of Islam Hadhari.

"They support the implementation of Islam Hadhari because this is the first time a country draws up a programme on Islamic civilisation when previously no other Islamic countries have translated government policies towards rebuilding Islamic civilisation," he told Bernama here Thursday.

He said Yadim, as the programme secretariat, would translate and publish all the working papers and resolutions of the conference and discuss with the university in implementing the resolutions at the global level on the belief that the governments of Islamic countries would give serious attention to the resolutions.

The conference, themed "Islam Hadhari: Between Heritage and Present Challenges", is expected to draw over 1,000 participants including from overseas.

Nakhaie said the Al-Azhar had given the mandate for Malaysia to decide the theme of the conference and titles of the working papers pointing to the theme.

He said scholars of the Al-Azhar were very excited to see the development and success of Islamic policies in Malaysia, such as in Islamic education, Tabung Haji pilgrimage fund and the Islamic financial system thrusting on Islamic civilisation.

Presently, he said, students from other Islamic countries were vying to further their studies in the religion and other fields in Malaysia, making it a hub for Islamic education and other fields of knowledge.

"The idea to hold the conference in this country came from the Sheikhul of Al-Azhar Dr Muhammed Sayyid Tantawi before it was agreed upon by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

"The Sheikhul of Al-Azhar is of the opinion that one Islamic country strong in understanding and implementing Islamic policies is Malaysia on the back of the present Islamic world which is unstable and plague by disturbances triggered by differences between schools of thought," he said.

Nakhaie said divisions in the various Islamic streams would be touched during the conference as among internal challenges in Islamic civilisation while one of the external challenges to be discussed would be western thoughts which could be accepted by Islam.

He said the scholars and conference participants would also discuss the question of Islamic civilisation heritage.

"We want the Islamic mainstream belief held by the Companions of the Prophet, the scholars who inherit their knowledge traditions and the Sunni in understanding the Quran, to be preserved," he said.

SAR - Syarat PAS tak boleh diterima, Hishammuddin

Alhamdulillah..

Pas' Conditions Unacceptable - Hishammuddin

PASIR PUTEH, Dec 22 (Bernama) --The conditions set by PAS to surrender 68 state-run religious schools (SARs) in Kelantan to the Education Ministry are unacceptable, said its minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein.

He said among the conditions PAS set were that the ministry would only provide the funding for them but supervision would still be under PAS' control.

"This brings us back to square one. Accepting such a condition will be stupidity on our part," he told reporters after attending an Aidiladha celebration at the home of Semerak Assemblyman Datuk Kamaruddin Mohd Noor here today.

In the middle of this year, the PAS-run Kelantan government through its Yayasan Islam Kelantan (YIK) foundation submitted a memorandum to the ministry stipulating its conditions for the handing over of the schools, which have a total enrolment of some 35,000 pupils, mostly from rural areas.

Hishammuddin added that to date, only Kelantan refused to allow the ministry to run such schools.

Kelantan is the only opposition run state in the federation.

Nuclear fallout

Apa kurangnya kita.

From AlJazeera - by Marwan Bishara, Al Jazeera's senior political analyst

"Dishonest", "misleading", "lying" and "spinning" are just some of the measured adjectives used in the mainstream US media to characterise George Bush, the president, and Stephen Hadley, his national security adviser, after they embraced the damning National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) summary report on Iran as proof of the effectiveness and success of the administration's Tehran policy.

The NIE judges "with high confidence that in the fall of 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons programme", and that "Tehran's decision to halt its nuclear weapons programme suggests it is less determined to develop nuclear weapons than we have been judging since 2005".

It further said that "...Tehran's decisions are guided by a cost-benefit approach rather than a rush to a weapon irrespective of the political, economic and military costs". And that "this NIE does not assume that Iran intends to acquire nuclear weapons".

The White House seems to have known of much of this and more for some time, but chose to escalate the war rhetoric against Tehran.

Depending on which version of the story one believes, the White House knew about the "discovery" any time between last spring and summer.

Even when new intelligence compelled the National Intelligence Board (NIB) to make a 180-degree change in its estimate, rendering the Iranian threat anything but imminent, administration officials continued to speak of the threat of Iran's nuclear weapons programme until hours before its publication.

The White House sent its third carrier into the Gulf transforming its "crisis management" mode with Iran into direct "confrontation management" and sealing the war scenario against Tehran when the decision comes down.

President Bush also warned during a news conference on October 17 that an Iranian nuclear bomb could lead to "world war three" and asked Congress to pass the highest defence budget in the history of the country, mostly under the guise of an imminent Iranian threat that he knew did not exist.

Déjà vu

In a repeat of the dreadful and misleading escalation against Iraq prior to its 2003 invasion, the Bush administration escalated the war rhetoric against Tehran even though it knew with high confidence that it had no programme, no capability and, with moderate confidence, no intention of developing a nuclear weapons programme.

The leading presidential candidates followed suit.

Rudy Giuliani claimed: "As we all know, Iran is seeking nuclear weapons and they're threatening to use them."

Likewise, Senator John McCain insisted: "There's no doubt that [Iran is] moving forward with the acquisition of a nuclear weapon."

And Hillary Clinton, before giving the president another vote of confidence to go to war, insisted that "Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is in the forefront of that, as they are in the sponsorship of terrorism."

To the surprise of many Western observers, it turns out that the policies of the Iranian and Iraqi leaders were based on realistic "cost and benefit" grounds, not the irrational behaviour Washington accused them of as dangerous and unpredictable crazies.

On the other hand, the Bush administration's war policies towards Iraq and Iran have proven to be hardly cost and benefit driven even when calculating the oil and strategic interests.

Worse, the Bush administration lost all credibility when it went on to intimidate its allies and foes alike to punish Iran. It also attacked the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Mohamed ElBaradai, its director, for being soft on Iran, knowing all too well that they have been right all along.

Condoleezza Rice, the US secretary of sate, told ElBaradei that his body was not "in the business of diplomacy".

ElBaradei, to his credit, has long believed Iran possessed no nuclear weapons programme and made a deal under which it would answer long-standing questions about its nuclear activities.

Cover up

According to Senator Jay Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bush knew about the new information regarding Iran's nuclear programme, because he and his deputy on the committee were also informed, albeit in a more general manner, by the intelligence community.

Gary Sick, a US-based Iran expert, estimates that the president might have known some nine months ago, when according to him the Iranian deputy defence minister defected to the West.

On November 14, Mike McConnell, NIE director, told the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars that he was not going to make his report public. Which begs the question, why has the White House allowed the publication of this embarrassing report?

Two possible scenarios have surfaced since the publication:

First, Robert Gates, the US defence secretary, insisted on it. The Pentagon finances most of the programmes and departments that contribute to the NIE database.

Unlike the 2005 pro-war Rumsfeld, Gates does not want another Middle Eastern war as he told Congress recently, especially in light of the debacle in Iraq.

Second, it seems that congressional leaders who oppose Bush's Iran policy insisted that it be publicised after hearing or reading some of its preliminary conclusions.

In an election year, any such news is good news for the Democrats.

By default or by design?

Some believe that the Bush administration, famous for its political discipline, is none the less using the NIE in a clever, even if desperate, attempt to climb down from the hysterical "Carthage must be destroyed" line.

After all, how many times can you mention world war three without eventually having to start it?

Now that it is out, the new estimate could neutralise the neo-conservative fringe, and let the administration out of a rhetorical corner.

The White House announcement of the president's Middle East trip at the beginning of next year, following the attendance this week by Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, the Iranian president, at the Gulf co-operation summit, underlines the desire to relax tensions in the region following Annapolis and the relative "improvements" of the Iraq situation.

Today and in light of the NIE findings, some observers believe the central issue for the US and Iran is no longer the nuclear question but rather the future of Iraq.

The US understands that it "needs Iran for the endgame in Iraq", while for Iran, the recent developments in Iraq encourage it to make a deal with Washington before the latter strikes a deal with its adversaries.

Three scenarios

Now that the new estimate is out, something has got to give.

First, international and domestic pressure will build up against a pre-emptive strike and, my guess, at least two permanent members will stand against another UN Security Council resolution punishing Iran, despite its civilian programme that contradicts past resolutions.

Second, the NIE publication might pave the way to bilateral negotiations between the US and Iran without stiff preconditions in order to relax the tensions in the Gulf with the participation of Iran's Arab neighbours, as well as its European allies.

Now that the nuclear roadblock is out of the way, Washington will find it ever more necessary and ever more enticing to talk to Iran about a "helpful" and perhaps beneficial role for itself and Iraq in the Gulf.

Either way, the White House will certainly face more questions and inquiries regarding the discrepancies of timings and policies; as more insiders come clean on US policy towards Iran. Americans would want to know what Bush and Co knew, when did they know it and what have they done or not done about it?

As so many commentators have said the morning after Bush and Hadley embraced the NIE report, the central question begging for an answer revolves around how corrupt politics have lead to dangerous policies.

The mirror of Islam Hadhari

Images and crosses won't be removed

KUALA LUMPUR, TheSun2Surf (Dec 3, 2007): Deputy Education Minister Datuk Noh Omar says the government is not removing the images of Jesus, Mary or the Cross from mission schools.

"This is tradition and there is no reason why they should not be continued," he said in reply to a question by Lim Kit Siang (DAP-Ipoh Timur) in the Dewan Rakyat (Parliament) today.

Lim had repeatedly asked Noh why there was no explanation from Education Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein on the matter, raised by Syed Hood Syed Edros (BN-Parit Sulong) more than a month ago.

Syed Hood had, on Oct 29, said the board of directors of mission run schools were partially administered by churches in foreign countries.

"I was also made to understand that the application to build suraus in some of these schools had to go through the approval of these boards of directors since they are partially administered by the church. It shames me that the school administrations are still controlled by the church," he had said.

Syed Hood said he was made to understand that many Muslim parents sent their children to these schools and complained that sometimes the school started the morning with "church songs".

Datuk Mohamad Aziz (Sri Gading) interjected and declared: "I am not shocked at all. During the last Hari Raya, I was told by a father, when Aidilfitri was celebrated, these types of schools were not closed."

Later, in the Parliament lobby, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz , asked on the matter, said the public could lodge a police report if they are upset over the remarks.

"They can't make seditious remarks even though they have immunity as MPs. MPs are not above the Sedition Act. I am not going to condone any seditious statements made by anybody," he said.

Nazri said no one from the BN had complained about Syed Hood's call on the mission schools.

Islam not above constitution, says PM

Anak-anak Jeanne gembira untuk ibu dan PM

Gambar PM tersebar selepas Monsoon Cup

ALOR GAJAH, Dec 01 - The prime minister yesterday gave the assurance that minority races in the country are protected under the law and continue to enjoy the fruits of development.

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said this was because Islam required Muslims to be fair and that representatives of all the races were in the government.

He said the minorities in the country -- whether Indians, Chinese or people of other races - would have a place in the nation as guaranteed in the Constitution.

"The minorities will get protection under the law, enjoy the development that the nation experiences and continue to progress. We are a country which practises the sharing of power and in the government, there are representatives from all races. We sit down together and decide what is best for the country and the people.

"We do not sideline any race or religion. There is no such thing as ethnic cleansing... this is for sure."

Abdullah said the government would continue to help the Indian community by providing education, equal opportunities and other benefits.

"I have to be fair to all and this is something which is a must in Islam. One day, I will die and according to Islam, Allah will judge me.

"Allah will evaluate me and question me if I have been just and fair. Have you done this or not? I cannot lie. Allah knows if I lie. As a Muslim, I cannot be enemies with others, I cannot hate any race, I cannot hate any group."

Speaking at the launch of the Hadhari Village in Kampung Tanjung Bidara, Abdullah, who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Jeanne Abdullah, said the implementation of Islam Hadhari or "civilisational Islam" was aimed at enhancing the quality of life of Malaysians, regardless of race and religion. more

Dr Faiz, membujang dan pembelian Soyuz TMA-11

Tidak mustahil Dr Faiz seorang 'big loser' jika 2011 tidak menjelang baginya!

Advice To Dr Faiz To Stay Single Unhealthy, MP Says

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) - It is unhealthy and a discrimination, says Fong Po Kuan (DAP-Batu Gajah) of the advice to spaceman Maj Dr Faiz Khaleed to stay single until 2011.

"Was it a policy?," she asked. It would only put pressure on Dr Faiz and those interested to participate in the National Spaceman Programme in the future, she said when debating the Supply Bill 2008 in the Dewan Rakyat Tuesday.

On Nov 10, Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jamaludin Jarjis said Dr Faiz was not encouraged to get married until the mission to send another Malaysian to outer space is realised in 2011.

This was to ensure Dr Faiz remain focus on the training, he said.

It was not a coercion, he explained. But, the spaceman had to think seriously of the matter before deciding on getting married, he added.

In his reaction, Dr Faiz said he would heed to the advice. Not getting married was not a major problem, he said, because he knew that his main priority now was to realise the country's mission.

Fong also raised Russia's offer to sell to Malaysia the Soyuz TMA-11 craft that carried first national spaceman Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha to the International Space Station last month.

She wanted to know how far the negotiation had gone into and urged to government to disclose the offer price.

Datuk Raja Ahmad Zainuddin Raja Omar (BN-Larut) welcomed the purchase, saying that the capsule could serve as a symbol of Malaysia's first voyage into space and a historical artefact for display to future generations.

Salahuddin Ayub (Pas-Kubang Kerian) said Malaysia should emulate Iran which had signed an agreement for technology transfer as part of the contract for the purchase of Sukhoi aircraft.

"They bought Sukhoi and asked for technology transfers. Today, they can build aircraft using the technology obtained. We bought Sukhoi and sent a spaceman," he said.

He urged the government to give due consideration before deciding on buying the Soyuz.

Wong Nai Chee (BN-Kota Melaka) said buying the Soyuz capsule was only a waste of tax payers' money because the spaceman programme in itself was enough to inspire the people.

Malaysia PM moves to soothe racial tensions

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 (GulfTimes) -
Malaysia’s prime minister moved yesterday to soothe racial and religious tensions ahead of expected early elections, saying there was no room for extremist tendencies in the moderate Muslim nation.

After 50 years of independence, race relations remain a thorny issue in a country that has suffered race riots in the past. In a recent incident, the nation’s ethnic Indians protested strongly against the demolition of a Hindu temple.

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is expected to call an election by early 2008, warned the country’s dominant Malays, and its Chinese and Indian minorities, against playing with religious and racial issues.

“The harmony between the various communities and religions in Malaysia is not an optional luxury - it is a necessity,” he told a meeting of his United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), the key party in the ruling coalition. “We have no other choice.”

“The time for championing parochial interests is over. Issues must be addressed on the basis of the interests of the nation and the Malaysian people as a whole,” said the 67-year-old leader.

“In the spirit of building a unified nation, the consensus of moderation and mutual respect outweighs extremist tendencies,” he told 2,500 UMNO delegates. UMNO has 3.3mn members.

Abdullah’s conciliatory tone in his speech was aimed at appeasing increasingly disgruntled non-Malay voters, who could turn their back on the ruling coalition in the coming polls.

On Monday, a top ethnic Indian minister called on Indian leaders to scrap a Hindu celebration as a mark of protest over the demolition of the temple.

S Samy Vellu, the Works Minister and a Hindu, retracted his statement hours later but his outburst reflected a growing disquiet among Hindu followers in the country.

“Our calculation shows one temple being demolished in every three weeks,” said P Uthayakumar, a lawyer for the Hindu Rights Action Task Force, a Malaysian rights group.

“The UMNO government is not following the Constitution, which guarantees the freedom of religion,” he said.

Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar, who is a senior UMNO leader, took Samy Vellu to task for his action.

“It’s easy to retract, but the more important thing is not to make the first statement. We do damage to our people,” he said.

The Barisan Nasional coalition, in power since 1957, is set to win once more, but a large protest vote by Chinese voters in what would be seen as a referendum on Abdullah’s four-year rule could embolden the opposition, weaken his pro-Malay policies and compromise his administration.

Malays, who are Muslim by definition, form just over half of Malaysia’s 26mn people. UMNO leaders have been at pains to assure the non-Malays that the Malay party was not a racist party, but insisted that UMNO would not compromise on special Malay privileges and rights. “No one should accuse UMNO of being a racist party or label the Malay agenda as a being a racist agenda,” said Khairy Jamaluddin, Abdullah’s son-in-law and a fast-rising UMNO leader.

UMNO assemblies have lately been dominated by calls to push the Malay agenda harder, with UMNO Youth leader Hishammuddin Hussein leading the pack by unsheathing, brandishing and kissing a keris, or a traditional Malay dagger.

That strained ties with Chinese allies in the coalition. The keris is seen as a symbol of unity or struggle for UMNO, but many non-Malays see it as a symbol of aggression.

Abdullah defended the decision. “The act of unsheathing and kissing a keris is part of our cultural heritage,” he said.–Reuters

Negara Islam Hadhari, Genting, Judi dan Rose Chan

Rose, Rose they love you

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Legendary striptease queen Rose Chan has come hauntingly back to mesmerise an audience enchanted by her life and times.

Youngsters and old timers, some travelling long distances, came to the Genting International Showroom here, where the musical Rose, Rose, I Love You, inspired by cabaret era of the stripper, premiered on Friday night.

It will be staged today before taking a break and showing again from Nov 9 to Nov 11.

Set in post-war Malaya in the 1950s, the musical revolves around a group of travelling performers whose earnings are determined by the applause they receive at the end of the show.

In that vein, each performer would try to outdo each other.

Tin Tan takes the leading role in the musical, supported by Carmen Soo (Xuan), K.K. Wong and Tony Eusoff.

Although Rose Chan was notoriously known for her brazen exploitation of her sex appeal, the musical was mild and did not showcase anything too raunchy.

The main highlight was Tin Tan in the “nude” in one scene during the 90-minute musical.

Though set in the 1950s, the musical featured a mixture of new and old songs, including current chart topper Beautiful Girls (Sean Kingston) and past favourites such as Like a Virgin (Madonna), I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor) and the Mandarin version of the classic, Rose, Rose I Love You (Yao Lee).

Yim Mei Choo and Low Ngai Yuen wrote Rose, Rose I Love You.

Berdosa? hmm..

Malays urged to emulate Chinese clan system

TANGKAK, Nov 3 - Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman wants Malays in the state to emulate the Chinese clan association system in looking after members from the same family lineage.

Speaking at a Hari Raya gathering of some 700 descendants of the late Muhammad Saat Abbas in Sungai Mati near here, he said the Chinese formed associations based on clans and helped one another, especially in business ventures.

“I am very happy to see the gathering of the descendants of the late Muhammad Saat, who opened up an area near Parit Bunga in 1820.

“We now have more than 700 of his descendants living all over the country,” he said Saturday.

Abdul Ghani said the gathering of one's family clan would also foster closer relations.

He said besides helping one another in business ventures and educational needs, they could also help in resolving social-related problems faced by any family member.

Since Muhammad Saat died in 1880, there had been nine generations of his descendants, mostly living in the Ledang parliamentary area, said a family member, Datuk Zainal Abidin Zin.

Zainal, who was a former Johor state assembly speaker, said the group would be encouraged to take up small-scale industrial businesses to improve their livelihoods.

“One has to be financially strong before one can help the others and I will try to help any member who wants to venture into business,” he added. mStarOnline

Genting numbers bring punter luck

TheStar reports on October 31 - A PUNTER who won the first prize for the number 3909 last week, struck again with 8111 on Sunday, according to China Press.

The 8111 is the reverse of the last four digits of the Genting Group telephone number while 3909 is the reverse of 9093, a combination of Genting Group founder the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong's Chinese age (90) and the age stated in his obituary (93).

8111 was the first prize in the Magnum draw on Sunday. 3909 was the second prize in Da Ma Cai on Wednesday. The 44-year-old punter, known only as Lee from Cheras, said he would use the money for his son's education and donate some to the orphanages and old folks home.

Apart from the two combinations, others which punters had betted on were numbers related to Lim's age, year of birth and time of his death.

President Bush Wishes Muslims eid Mubarak

WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Bernama) - President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, wished Muslims in the United States and around the world "Eid Mubarak."

"The great faith of Islam has enhanced our society and brought comfort and strength to generations in America and around the world," he said in a statement issued from the White House Thursday.

The three-day festival of Eid Al-Fitr marks the end of a month-long fast of Ramadan and "is a time to look forward with spirit of renewal and hope, and celebrate the rich Islamic tradition of charity and giving," he said.

During this holiday, Muslims gather with family and friends to share in traditional food, thank God for His blessings, and reach out to the less fortunate.

"Our nation is proud to be a land of many beliefs, and our society is enriched by our Muslim citizens.

"On the first day of Shawal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar, many people of all faiths reflect on the values we hold in common, including love of family, the importance of community, and gratitude to God," the president said in his annual message

Sekali lagi insiden Malaysia Serba Boleh di bawah naungan Islam Hadhari yang melibatkan rakyat Indonesia. Apakah reaksi rakyat Indonesia selepas ini, kita tunggu..

Embassy blasts Rela officers

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9, (the StarOnline) - Rela officers have come under fire from the Indonesian Embassy here following the harsh treatment of an Indonesian diplomat's wife and a university student during the agency's anti-illegal immigrant operations in Chow Kit and Kajang.

In separate statements issued yesterday, the embassy said that Muslianah Nurdin was detained by a Rela officer on Saturday while shopping in Chow Kit despite producing her diplomatic identity card issued by Wisma Putra.

“She showed her card to the officer who claimed that he did not recognise it. She was detained and placed with other illegal immigrants.

“Based on the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the Rela officer has violated international laws by showing disrespect to a member of the embassy,” it said yesterday.

In the other incident, the embassy claimed that Rela officers raided the house of Muha-mmad Yunus Lubis in Kajang.

It said the officers had shouted, forced open the door and entered the house early yesterday.

“At first, Yunus refused to open the door for fear that he might be harmed by criminals.

“The team released him after he showed his identification card, passport and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia student card.

“However, they refused to pay compensation for the damage incurred during the raid,” it ad-ded.

The embassy said it had asked the co-operation of the Government in taking action against the Rela officers involved.

A Wisma Putra spokesman said the ministry was unaware of the embassy's claim.
