Afghanistan - Protes selepas orang awam ditembak askar Amerika

Afghan deaths draw protest

March 4 - At least eight Afghan civilians have been killed after forces opened fire following a car bomb attack on a military convoy.

The explosion on Sunday was in eastern Afghanistan on the road to Pakistan.

Officials said the deaths sparked a large protest, but it remained unclear whether the Afghans had died in the blast or the shooting.

Noor Agha Zawok, a spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province, said a bomber hit an American convoy with a minivan.

Zawok said US soldiers opened fire after the attack, killing or wounding some civilians. Neither US nor Nato officials had any immediate information about the incident.

Protests

Ghafoor Khan, the spokesman for the provincial police chief, said hundreds of Afghans gathered in a large protest after the violence, throwing stones at police.

Nato's International Security Assistance Force also announced on Sunday that two soldiers had died in fighting in southern Afghanistan on Saturday. It did not give their nationalities. Agencies
